Unfinished Objects 2017 Workshop

It has become something of a tradition in the Online Guild, that we start the year with a New Year's Resolution to finish our UFO's (Unfinished Objects) or at least pick them up again and move them along towards the finishing line. Alison Daykin led this month's endeavours.

Right: Carol Marsh's handspun, heather coloured grey cheviot.

Jane Flanagan wove a length of fabric for a loom bench cushion. Both the warp face and weft face were equally attractive so she created a reversible cushion to display both sides.

Above is Katy Barrett's double knit coat. It used a handspun camel and merino/sparkle blend and eventually took 3 years to complete with encouragement from two January UFO workshops.

To the left, Jill Dexter's sample shows lesson 3, 4 and 5 from the Theo Moorman workshop held in October 2016, completed as part of this workshop.

Finally here is Linda Lane Thornton's wallhanging. Linda "rusted" her fabric before overdyeing with indigo, after watching indigo preparation and ikat dyeing, whilst in Indonesia.

Pat Wyatt's Sashiko bag was one of her three unfinished projects from the September 2016 workshop, completed at last.
